Look into the eyeballs (Quando con gli occhi…)
QUANDO CON LI OCCHI LI OCCHI… we sticked. Canto XXXIII of the Purgatorio.
Writing for us it was a revelation, a look just like the metaphor on the eyes of these lines. Similarly the eyes of Dante have been beaten, shocked by the brilliance and splendor of the eyes of Beatrice. We have known and felt the secret virtue, mysterious and invigorating and the highest virtue of writing has struck just as a look, and gaze through the heart with the respect and love just like that when the child is afraid to take refuge from the runs mom (…)(…) TOSTO CHE NELLA VISTA MI PERCOSSE L’ALTA VIRTU’ CHE GIA’ M’AVEA TRAFITTO (…) I turned to the left with rispitto with which the little child runs to his mother when he is afraid or when he is afflicted (…) Purgatorio Canto XXX. Why repeat and affirm the semantic theme of the eyes, the look through them because we base relationships of trust and the four of us friends have glimpsed something essential in the person that was before us, the emotions and moods in life and then in writing are congruent. Following the written word has enabled us to articulate what was taking place in the history of our souls and our lives. And our work is just like our eyes, our eyes with their endless expressions are intended to be sincere and be taken seriously by readers.

QUANDO CON LI OCCHI LI OCCHI…ci percuotemmo. Canto XXXIII del Purgatorio.
Lo scrivere per noi è stato una folgorazione, uno sguardo proprio come la metafora sugli occhi di questi versi. Allo stesso modo gli occhi di Dante sono stati percossi, sconvolti dal fulgore e dallo splendore degli occhi di Beatrice. Ne abbiamo riconosciuto e avvertito la virtù segreta, misteriosa e vitalizzante e l’alta virtù dello scrivere ci ha percosso proprio come uno sguardo, e mediante lo sguardo il cuore con quel rispetto e amore proprio come il bambino che quando ha paura corre a rifugiarsi dalla mamma (…) TOSTO CHE NELLA VISTA MI PERCOSSE L’ALTA VIRTU’ CHE GIA’ M’AVEA TRAFITTO(…) volsimi alla sinistra col rispitto col quale il fantolin corre alla mamma quando ha paura o quando elli è afflitto(…) Canto XXX Purgatorio. Perchè ribadisco e affermo il tema semantico degli occhi, dello sguardo perchè attraverso essi fondiamo relazioni di fiducia e noi quattro amici abbiamo intravisto qualcosa di essenziale nella persona che era dinanzi a noi, le emozioni e gli stati d’animo che nella vita e poi nella scrittura sono congruenti. In seguito le parole scritte ci hanno consentito di articolare ciò che si svolgeva nella storia delle nostre anime e della nostra vita. E le nostre opere sono proprio come il nostro sguardo, i nostri occhi con le loro infinite espressioni che intendono essere sincere ed essere prese sul serio da chi legge.
